Palm is a versatile, widely used crop. It has a high oil yield per land making it a desirable choice for high volume applications. However, negative practices within the palm industry pose environmental and social concerns conflicting with the inherent sustainability profile of the plant.
Inolex is committed to the betterment of the palm industry through traceability and accountability of the supply chain. As a palm-derivatives buyer and supplier, Inolex is not directly involved with palm farming, milling, crushing, or refining. However, we embrace our responsibility to continuous improvement and actively participate in multi-stakeholder programs that are enabling collaboration in improving traceability throughout the complex supply chain of the palm industry.

Palm Traceability
The palm industry is a complex system from plantations and smallholders, to traders, mills, refineries to ingredient manufacturers making traceability difficult. Yet, tracing where our palm comes from is crucial to understanding, managing, and improving the environmental and social impacts from deforestation to human rights. We are proud to have achieved a high level of traceability allowing us to zoom into the risk and opportunities in the specific regions where we source. In the spirit of transparency, we publish a list of mills that have a high level of certain connection to our supply chain.

Grievance Management
We have a formalized grievance management procedure which guides our response and action to violations. Grievances are tracked monthly and updates here.
